We, the campus journalists of the University of Makati, as a duly recognized student publication, shall adhere to the principles and ethics of journalism, mission-vision, and objectives of the university and organization; to advocate autonomous campus press ideals as a genuine service and aid in the formation of trustworthy and devoted student journalists and leaders, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution and Bylaws.
MISSION
A campus journalism organization that promotes inclusivity and diversity in the dynamic multimedia scene; it elevates voices, encourages conversation, and forms a more educated and connected society by engaging the next generation in critical thinking and media literacy.
VISION
Develop opportunities for student expression through platforms for participation in media work anchored on work-based learning and community involvement, motivating the Filipino Youth to constantly enhance multimedia storytelling and have a lasting effect on the next generation of Filipinos and beyond.
Organization Structure of USMO
The officers of USMO are the elected Executive Board, the appointed Executive Assistants, and the Media Department Heads and Assistants.
The Broadcast Media Department shall be composed of members and officers; namely Director, Assistant Directors, Segment Handlers, Snaps, Motions, Pool of Talents, and Technicals.
The Print Media Department shall be composed of members and officers; namely Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, Section Editors, Writers, Photojournalists, and Copyreaders.
The Social Media Department shall be composed of and officers; namely Public Relations Officer / Social Media Head, Assistant Social Media Head, Social Media Moderators, and Event Moderators.
The Creative Media Department shall be composed of members and officers; namely Creative Head, Creative Assistant, Project Managers, Illustrators, Designers, and Animators.
